Mr. D’Aunoy’s caseload is partly comprised of personal injury and workers compensation cases referred to him by other attorneys. Oftentimes a referring attorney may not have the requisite experience and/or time to prosecute a case. Donald D’Aunoy Jr. is there to help by assuming the heavy lifting in litigation, discovery, motion practice, and, the advancement of costs and expenses. Mr. D’Aunoy does all of this for a very competitive fee split, which is always negotiated on a case-by-case basis. Mr. D’Aunoy is more concerned about preserving his reputation as a generous businessman and savvy, sophisticated attorney than he is in taking the lion’s share of attorney’s fees.
Hourly Rate Work
Mr. D’Aunoy also accepts work from plaintiff attorneys on an hourly basis. Mr. D’Aunoy has extensive experience taking depositions, conducting motion practice and in other litigation matters. Attorneys use his services for heated and complicated portions of litigation (e.g., corporate rep. depositions, out of town depositions, hearings, oppositions to motions for summary judgment). Mr. D’Aunoy’s work in such scenarios includes detailed summaries of events informing the assigning attorney of the result of the handled matter. Mr. D’Aunoy does all of this for a competitive hourly rate. Furthermore, the advancement of costs and expenses are discussed on the front end.
Out of State Attorneys
Donald D’Aunoy Jr. also helps out of state attorneys litigate matters in Louisiana. Donald D’Aunoy is licensed and has extensive experience litigating in all of Louisiana’s federal district courts. When out of state attorneys need to litigate lawsuits in Louisiana, Donald D’Aunoy Jr. is there to file the lawsuit, litigate the claim, conduct discovery, advance costs and expenses where appropriate, and provide regular status updates to the referring attorney and his/her client(s).
